Alexan Balekian

Alexan joined the WFXR morning team in January of 2017 as a news anchor.  He grew up in Fresno, California and graduated from Fresno State University with a degree in broadcast journalism. Go Dogs! Alexan made his TV debut as a sports anchor at the ABC affiliate in Victoria, Texas to begin his 17-year broadcasting career.

A year later he helped launch a new 24-hour news station for Time Warner Cable at News 9 in San Antonio, Texas. As their sports anchor, he covered the NBA champion San Antonio Spurs, Dallas Cowboys and Texas Longhorns. He also covered the Super Bowl and the Final Four.  From San Antonio, Alexan decided to move home to become a sports anchor for KSEE-NBC in Fresno.  He covered his beloved Bulldogs and helped the station launch three half-hour sports shows. 

In 2009, Alexan ventured into the world of talk radio.  He launched the first FM sports show in California on KMJ-radio in Fresno.  Alexan was lured back into television in 2013 when he took his talents to Phoenix, Arizona and worked as a news and sports reporter for the NBC affiliate, 12 News.  He also continued his love for radio as the ESPN game day host for the Arizona Cardinals.
