Clay Ostarly

Clay Ostarly joined the WFXR Weather Team in February in 2017. He is AP award winning, and NWA certified Meteorologist and Multimedia Journalist.

Clay was born and raised in New Orleans, LA and most recently worked in Shreveport, LA.

He says his passion for weather started as a young kid, on May 8th, 1995, to be exact. A torrential rain event set up across South Louisiana, which dumped nearly 20" of rain in just under 48 hours. The rain caused major flooding where Clay was living at the time. At five-years-old, he was terrified of weather. However, it was this flood that caused him to watch the weather channel religiously. As he watched, he learned more and more about weather until, eventually, he wasn't afraid of it anymore. That's how he decided he wanted to be a meteorologist.
He is excited to be in Virginia, and looks forward to serving the community.
