A woman was killed in an accident in Pittsylvania County

Virginia State Police are investigating a deadly accident in Pittsylvania County. 

It happened at 2:40 a.m. on Route 58, near Route 855. 

A car was going west on Route 58 when it ran off the left side of the road and overturned, ejecting the driver. 

Brittany Brideson was driving the car, she was not wearing a seatbelt and died at the scene.

PITTSYVANIA, Va. – Virginia State Police Trooper D. S. Hardee is investigating a single vehicle crash that occurred on February 26, 2017. The crash occurred at 2:40 a.m. on Route 58, three tenths of a mile east of Route 855 in Pittsylvania County.

A 2008 Nissan Rogue was traveling west on Route 58 when the vehicle ran off the left side of the roadway and overturned, ejecting the driver.

The 2008 Nissan was driven by Brittany Alyse Brideson, 25, of Dry Fork, Va. Ms. Brideson was not wearing her seatbelt and died at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.
