Acid leak reported at Radford plant

RADFORD, VA - According to the Radford Army Ammunition Plant Facebook page, there was a Nitric Acid leak during tank testing on Tuesday.

It happened in the acid storage facility at the Radford Army Ammunition Plant, and employees in the immediate vicinity were evacuated.

The acid has been fully contained and being treated per procedures.

Per their Facebook page, the plant says there were no injuries or health impact to employees from the leak.

The investigation is ongoing.
