Blue Cow Ice Cream launches "Cone for a Cause" on National Ice Cream Day

Roanoke, Va. - Sunday is National Ice Cream Day, so a local ice cream shop  in Roanoke used it to give to a good cause.

Blue Cow Ice Cream Company  launched "Cone for a Cause", a fundraiser.   A portion on Sunday's sales is going to Feeding America Southwest Virginia.  The owners want to have the fundraiser several times throughout the year to help different charities.  They say the community has been very supportive and the fundraiser is their way of giving back.

"The customers, the media, just everybody has been so helpful to us as we launched, and it's been really great.  And, that's part of our give back.  We want to give back to our community because we love being here so much and being a part of it," said Jason Kiser, owner of Blue Cow Ice Cream Company.

The owners say they haven't determined how much will be going to food bank.
