Friends remember Vinton crash victims

VINTON, Va. - Friends are mourning the loss of restaurant owners who died after a violent car crash.

A crash on February 18th claimed the life of Elvia Linares; her husband Angel died from his injuries over the weekend in the hospital.

The Linares co-owned Angelo's Mexican Restaurant in Vinton.

Investigators are working to determine if a vehicle malfunction may have contributed to the deadly crash.

WFXR News discovered that thousands of vehicles similar to the one the Linares were in have been recalled for reports that the gas pedal would get stuck under the floor mat.

Vinton police are waiting for the crash report to be completed to determine how the crash happened and if the vehicle was under recall.
