Grant awarded at Read Mountain Middle School

A local business is giving teachers funds to help their students go above and beyond.

Blue Eagle Credit Union is giving $2400 to six teachers in our community for projects they need help funding in the schools.

On Wednesday, they gave out $500 to Read Mountain Middle School.

The grant will be used to buy new dissecting equipment for their 7th grade Life Science class.

"It's a great opportunity to have  a local business coming in and supporting and being a part of our community," said Sally Rondeau.

Teachers had to apply for the grants and the six winners were chosen from about 30 applications.
