High school student arrested in Roanoke County

A student has been arrested at Northside High School in Roanoke County. 

According to a press release from the police department, the 16-year-old brought an unloaded pellet gun to school.  

The student has now been charged with having a firearm on school property and carrying a concealed weapon. 

Here is the press release: 

(Roanoke County, VA—October 26, 2017) A 16-year old Northside High School student has been arrested after bringing a pellet gun to school Thursday morning. 

School personnel were made aware of a student possibly in possession of a handgun. After an investigation by Roanoke County Police, the weapon was located and determined to be an unloaded pellet gun.

Charges include possession of a firearm on school property and carrying a concealed weapon.
