A man has been arrested for making a treat against law enforcement.
James Burton, Junior was charged on May 16th for a threat he wrote on social media.
The post was written after the death of Burton's father after a shootout with police in the Town of Pulaski on May 14th.
Burton was arrested and is being held without bond at the New River Valley Regional Jail in Dublin.

On May 16, 2017, Virginia State Police charged James A. Burton Jr., 26, of Dublin, Va., with one felony count of making a written threat to kill or do bodily harm to a person (Code of Virginia 18.2-60). The charge stemmed from a social media post by Burton in the wake of his father’s death following a shootout with police in the Town of Pulaski on May 14, 2017. Burton was taken into custody without incident and is being held without bond at the New River Valley Regional Jail in Dublin, Va.
The investigation concerning this charge remains ongoing.
The investigation into the officer-involved shooting on May 14 in the Town of Pulaski also remains under investigation.
