UPDATE: Investigators identify man injured in motorcycle crash

ROANOKE, Va. - UPDATE: We now know the identity of the man injured in a motorcycle crash on Sunday.

According to Roanoke City Police, Michael Wade, 68, was injured in that crash on Walnut Avenue.

Authorities say he is currently in Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, with serious injuries.


An intersection in Southeast Roanoke is blocked as officers investigate a motorcycle crash.

Dispatchers told WFXR News that a crash involving an SUV and a motorcycle was reported at Walnut Avenue SE near Piedmont Street SE around 4:45 p.m. Sunday.

It's unclear if anyone was seriously injured or how long the intersection will be blocked.
