The Radford City Police Department is investigating a car crash.
It happened on June 13 at 6:02 p.m. at the intersection of Rock Road and Lovely Mount Drive.
A Toyota Sedan was trying to make a left turn from Rock Road onto Lovely Mount Drive and failed to yield the right of way to a Nissan SUV going east on Rock Road.
The driver of the Toyota, Paul Hershey, was taken to the hospital for life threatening injuries. The driver of the Nissan was taken to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
So far it does not seem that drugs or alcohol were involved in the crash.

On June 13, 2017 at 6:02 pm the Radford City Police Department responded to a motor vehicle crash at the intersection of Rock Road and Lovely Mount Drive in the City of Radford. Preliminary investigation has revealed that a 2005 Toyota Sedan attempting to make a left hand turn from Rock Road onto Lovely Mount Drive failed to yield the right of way to a 2017 Nissan SUV traveling eastbound on Rock Road.
The driver of the 2005 Toyota, Paul Hershey, 40, of Radford, VA was transported to Roanoke Memorial Hospital with life threatening injuries. The driver of the 2017 Nissan was transported to New River Valley Medical Center with non-life threaten injuries. Preliminarily alcohol or drugs were not a factor in this crash. The crash remains under investigation by the City of Radford Traffic Crash Reconstruction Team, with the assistance of the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.
