UPDATE: Arrests made in two Roanoke carjackings

ROANOKE, VA - UPDATE:  Two people have been arrested in connection to two carjackings in Roanoke. 

19-year-old Mathieu Bonhomme, Junior and 18-year-old Kason Anthony Brown, Junior have both been charged with one count of carjacking in the Valley View incident.  They are also the suspects in the second carjacking on Northview Drive. 

Both men were taken to the Roanoke City Jail and both cars were recovered.

Last night, officers arrested Mathieu Bonhomme Jr., age 19, of Roanoke, and Kason Anthony Brown Jr., age 18, of Roanoke. Both are charged with one count of carjacking in relation to the Valley View incident. They are both suspects in the Northview carjacking as well. Additional charges are pending upon consultation with the commonwealth's attorney's office. Both men were also served unrelated warrants for failure to appear in court. They were both taken to Roanoke City Jail. Both vehicles [the one from Valley View and the one from Northview] were also recovered.

Roanoke Police are looking for two men that carjacked two cars on Tuesday.

The first happened just before 4:00 a.m. in the 4700 block of Valley View Boulevard.

The 20-year-old victim said as she was getting out of her car to go to work, a man approached her, and caused her to get back in the car and lock the doors.

She told police the suspect pointed a handgun at her and told her to get out of the car.

When she got out, the suspect and another man got into the 2001 green Ford Escape and took off.

The suspects were described a black men, one wearing a white Hollister sweatshirt and the other wearing a dark colored Virginia Tech hoodie..

A few hours later around 7:30 a.m., police were called to the 2700 block of Northview Drive SW for another carjacking.

This time two black men came up to a 61-year-old woman and demanded her to get out of the car.

They got into her burgundy 2014 Honda Civic and took off. She also gave the same description of the suspects in the first incident.

Thankfully, neither victim was injured. No arrests have been made and the investigation in ongoing.
