RAMP offices opening Roanoke's Gill Memorial building

RAMP taking applications for accelerator program

ROANOKE, Va. - On Monday, Roanoke RAMP, or Regional Acceleration and Mentorship Program will be opening their offices in the newly renovated Gill Memorial building.

RAMP is a collaboration between Roanoke city, Virginia Western Community College, and the Roanoke-Blacksburg Technology Council.  The program will help start-up businesses grow by giving them free office space, mentors, business education, and access to capital.

Leaders say program applications are open, and they're looking specifically for businesses focused on technology, bio-health and life sciences.

"Those types of companies are really where are mentors are and where we feel like we can add the most value," said Robert McAden, chairman of the Roanoke-Blacksburg Technology Council.

The applications are due on March 15th and the program will start in early June.
