Roanoke regional chamber's 127th year

ROANOKE, Va. - Business leaders gathered for the Roanoke Regional Chamber's 127th annual meeting.

More than 500 business professionals turned out for the networking event.

Organizers reviewed accomplishments of the valley last year and set new initiatives for this year.

Leaders say the annual event is more about connecting with others than anything else.

"Some people know us more for the networking, some for small business development assistance and others just for the connections that we make. But all of it enter us into the betterment of the community and a stronger business climate," Joyce Waugh, President & CEO of the Roanoke Regional Chamber, said.

"For us to be able to work together to build on tradition but to also innovate at the same time is something that will make our community even stronger," Lee Clark, CEO of the Rescue Mission, said.
