Special visit at Eldor facility site

BOTETOURT COUNTY, Va. - Eldor Corporation's American President and CEO visited Botetourt County this week to check on the  progress of the company's first North American factory.

Construction is on track at the Eldor site in Botetourt County. The massive facility will be 250,000 square feet. Eldor plans on employing more than 300 people within the first year of opening, and they plan on hiring people local to Roanoke and Botetourt County.

Eldor is an Italian company that builds ignition systems for car engines. Right now they only manufacture the parts for regular vehicles, but they're hoping the new location in Virginia will help them get a jump start on electrical car technology.

Stefano Concezzi, the American CEO/President of the company, is excited to see how far along the facility has come since the beginning of the year when construction started.

"It's really... simply talking about it I have goosebumps," he says. "Because it was nothing! You know? You remember it, it was a nice hill."

"The President of the company, he came out here and fell in love with the place," adds the Amsterdam District Representative Todd Dodson. "It's like, who doesn't fall in love with Botetourt County?"

Concezzi says he hopes to have the building finished by April, with everything up and running by June.
