Roanoke, Va. - Happiness in the workplace has become front and center, as we hear about companies like Google going above and beyond for employees. Business Insider named Google the best company to work for in 2016.
During Monday's Virginia At Work, Courtland James discussed how much of a role happiness of an employee plays in a business or company's success.
Courtland is an Executive Coach with Cortex Leadership Consulting.
He shared three tips to improving employee happiness:
- Improve (or implement) a proactive employee recognition and reward culture
- Communicate often and openly about any changes in the company, especially leadership turnover and financial health
- Managers should work with individual employees to understand career goals and give them opportunities to grow and develop
