American National Bank in South Boston robbed Monday

SOUTH BOSTON, Va. (WFXR News) - The American National Bank in South Boston was robbed Monday morning. 

According to South Boston Police Department, surveillance cameras caught the individual suspected of robbing the bank on camera.

Around 9:50 a.m. Monday a man "walked into the bank and gave a note to one of the tellers threatening to shoot employees if demands for money were not met," a police spokesman said in an emailed statement.

Once the teller gave the man cash, police said he left the bank on foot. He never displayed a weapon. 

A man who is believed to be in his 20's wearing sunglasses, a green shirt, and a brown and tan jacket and jeans is seen in the surveillance photo. 

The bank was closed until 12:00 p.m. while law enforcement investigated.

Information leading to an arrest may be eligible for a reward.
