Attempted murder suspect arrested in Lynchburg

LYCNHBURG, Va. - Authorities in the Hill City have arrested a man wanted for attempted murder in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

Investigators said they got a tip that Dominique Collins was at an apartment on Langhorne Road in Lynchburg Friday; he was arrested after a short foot chase.

Wanted posters show that Collins was on the Tennessee Top 10 Fugitive list.

Collins was wanted for attempted first degree murder charges after a shooting at a gas station in Chatanooga in April.

The Lynchburg Police Department's Criminal Investigations Unit alo ng with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigations, Chattanooga P o lice Department , U.S . Marshal s Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force and the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms worked together in relation to an ongoing investigation stemming from a shoot ing incident in Chattanooga, Tennessee that occurred on April 13, 2018. The LPD Criminal Investigations U n it developed information that the suspect from the shooting incident in Tenn es see was residing in Lynchburg, Va. Detectives worked cooperatively with all agencies involved to share information and identify the location w here t h e suspect was residing in Lynchburg, Va. On November 30, 2018 LPD Detectives, U.S. Marshals and ATF agents responded to the McCausland Ridge Apartments located at 2075 Langhorne Rd in Lynchburg, VA where after a short f oot chase they were able to take Dominique Lebron Collins , 30 year old male of Chattanooga, TN into custody without incident. Collins was listed by the Tennessee B urea u of Investigations as a Top Ten Most W anted . Collins was wanted for the following charges stemming f rom the April 13, 2018 incident : Attempted 1 st Degree Murder, Aggravated Assault, Reckless Endangerment and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon. Collins was transported to the Blue Ridge Regional Jail, Lynchburg, VA where he is being held without bond
