Covington police arrest 3 accused of bringing meth, heroin into the city

COVINGTON, Va. (WFXR News) - Covington police have arrested three people who are suspected of bringing drugs into the city. 

According to police, three suspects from the Roanoke area were traveling to Covington to sell heroin and meth. 

Officers found their car and made contact.

Officials say when they approached the car, the backseat passenger was holding a handgun in his lap. 

The suspect did not fire the gun. 

Police say, during the search they did find drugs. 

According to police, two of the three suspects were wanted on multiple warrants. All three suspects were arrested on several felony drug and weapon charges. Police have not yet released the names of these suspects.
