Danville police arrest suspect in double homicide, identify victims

Danville, Va. - Danville police have arrested a suspect in a double homicide that happened just before 10 p.m. Wednesday. 

According to police, 52-year-old Onis Donnell Moon has been charged with two counts of first degree murder. He is in Danville City Jail under no bond. No other suspects are believed to have been involved.

Police have identified the victims as 87-year-old Valean Ferrrell Barley and 83-year-old Royal Douglas Barley. 

Officials say they responded to a residence in the 100 block of Lexington Avenue for a disturbance. They said when they arrived to the scene they found three individuals suffering from severe injuries. 

Two of the victims were pronounced dead at the scene. The third victim was transported from the scene by EMS and to receive treatment.

The investigation is active and ongoing.
