Kroger employees protest in Roanoke

ROANOKE, Va. - Today across from the Kroger Mid-Atlantic Headquarters, there will be a protest.

Workers from all different states are coming together to stand behind fellow Nofolk employees.

Kroger bought a store across the street from the the Kroger store and employees say the company has not been upfront about if they will have their jobs or not.

The protest begins at 1:30pm Tuesday.

WFXR's Sophia Borrelli spoke to the organizer of the event.

We have recieved this statement from Kroger: "We welcome the opportunity to meet with any associate to get feedback and discuss concerns in a constructive and meaningful way. The union has a right to rally; however, the most productive thing the union can do is to work with the company in a manner that positively addresses those concerns.”
