New details surface in Alexa Cannon murder case

RADFORD, Va. - New court documents indicate that a Radford University student called for help the morning that she was killed.

A search warrant filed by Radford Police said officers found a phone under Alexa Cannon's hand and "It has been verified that this was Cannon's cell phone and she did call the Radford City Police Department."

The documents also said Cannon has "communicated with others about the suspected offender in the days leading up to her death."

Luisa Cutting is charged with second degree murder; authorities said she stabbed Cannon several times on January 24.
