POLICE: Roanoke County man missing, his vehicle found near hiking trails

ROANOKE COUNTY, Va. (WFXR News) - Roanoke County police are asking for help finding a man whose vehicle was found near hiking trails in Catawba.

Police say 34-year-old Paul Youmans has not been seen since early Monday morning.

Youmans is described as 5'9, approximately 140 lbs, with brown hair and blue eyes.

Through their investigation officers found his vehicle in the parking lot near the hiking trails leading to Dragon’s Tooth in Catawba.

Roanoke County Police and Fire & Rescue and several local blood hound tracking groups searched the area until around midnight due to darkness and the steep, rocky terrain of the trail system.

On Tuesday, Roanoke County Police, Roanoke County Fire & Rescue and the Virginia Department of Emergency Management continued the search.

Youmans was not located as of Tuesday night and police will continue the search again Wednesday.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Roanoke County Emergency Communications Center at (540) 562‐3265.
