Roanoke Police: Man charged for robbing business at gunpoint in Wasena

ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR News) - Roanoke police have arrested and charged a man after he allegedly robbed a Roanoke business Sunday night. 

Officers said they responded to a business in the 1100 block of Main Street SW around 10:30 P.M. They did not specify which business it was. 

According to officials, a man had entered the store and waved a gun, demanding money. The suspect then took money from the cash register drawer and left the scene. 

Officers were able to locate the suspect not too far from the scene.

After further investigation, police identified the suspect as 29-year-old Donte Trent and he has been charged with robbery. 

Detectives are consulting with the Commonwealth Attorney's Office to determine additional charges. 

No one was injured in this incident and the stolen money and firearm used in the robbery were recovered.
