Salem Chick-fil-a begins yearly coat drive

SALEM, Va. (WFXR News) - A coat for a chicken sandwich. That's the trade-off at the Chick-fil-a in Salem.

Friday through Monday, you can drop off a children's coat that is either new or gently used, and get a free chicken sandwich!

As of this posting, they have donated 200 coats, including 26 from the Glenvar softball team.

Community Director Vanessa Miles says it's something they look forward to every winter.

"I think its just important to know that its the season of giving and how much fun it is to give to those in need...We're so proud of our guests and of the clothes closet for what they do for the community that its just an honor to partner with them in this small way," she said.

As of this posting, Ms. Dorsey's Clothes Closet has given out more than 530 coats total.
