Two dogs badly injured, euthanized after going over Carilion parking garage wall

ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR News) - Two dogs were badly injured and as a result, euthanized after going over Carilion parking garage wall.

According to Roanoke Police, just after 9 a.m. on Friday, October 12, the Animal Protection Services Unit Wardens responded to the 1400 block of Hamilton Terrace SE to help Carilion Police about reports that two dogs had gone over the wall on the 6th floor of the Carilion Parking Garage. 

When the Wardens arrived, they found two dogs on the surface parking lot near the garage with serious injuries. 

They both did have microchip registration devices that were properly registered. The wardens immediately contacted the owners of the animals. 

The dogs had to be euthanized because of the severity of their injuries. 

The police department released the following:

Roanoke Police Department Animal Protection Services continue to investigate this incident in cooperation with the Carilion Police Department. It is unknown at this time if any criminal mischief was involved in the incident. The animals lived in the neighborhood close to the scene and had escaped their enclosure.
