Radford Rallies In Second Half To Beat Longwood

RADFORD, Va. (WFXR) - Radford overcame a 14-point first half deficit to defeat Longwood, 71-64, on Saturday in the Big South opener for both teams.

The Highlanders tied the game 57-57 with 3:56 to go when Carlik Jones landed a floater in the lane. Then, Donald Hicks hit an off-balance jumper as the shot clock expired to give Radford the lead for good. 

Jones led the Highlanders with 24 points while Devonnte Holland scored 16 as Radford improved to 9-6 overall and 1-0 in the Big South. The victory marked the fourth straight year the Highlanders won their conference opener.
